Stunning Protection from Assault

Did you know that a violent crime occurs every 26 seconds? Or that 1 in 5 women are survivors of rape and 1 in 3 women experience domestic violence?  Don’t be a statistic!  There are easy to use, highly effective, non-lethal safety products that will empower and equip you to defend yourself.

My favorite personal protection product is my stun gun and I don’t leave home without it.

A stun gun is a pain compliance tool. It disrupts muscle activity by creating electrical impulses, sending nerve cells that control your muscles into chaos, causing pain and involuntary contraction.  This period of pain and disorientation of the attacker allows you time to get away. 

Studies have shown that most attackers are looking for one main characteristic in their victim… an easy target.  Parking lots are a common location for attacks. The assailant is often waiting and watching for their victim.

This is one of the advantages to carrying a non-lethal weapon in your hand.  It sends a message, “Not me stalker!”  

Another advantage to carrying a stun gun is that it can be used as a deterrent by firing off a warning shot.   Avoiding or deterring an altercation by simply having the stun gun in your hand, or firing a warning shot is the ideal situation. If need be, the next step is to drive the stun gun forcefully into the assailant, ideally a sensitive area.

Many women wonder why they would carry a stun gun if they also carry a gun.  I believe the answer is that we should layer our protection.  The stun gun provides an opportunity to avoid being targeted in the first place simply by having it in sight. Also, not all situations call for lethal force.

Another common misconception is that a stun gun and taser are the same weapon. They are not. A taser is a brand. A taser shoots probes at the target, typically within a range of 15-20 feet.  It is one and done as both probes must make contact with the attacker. A stun gun has prongs which must make contact with the target.

Each of the stun guns includes a flashlight to increase your situational awareness, a disable pin which prevents the device from being used against you and a lifetime warranty.
